Pumpkin Hollow Progress and Construction Update

July 8, 2019

Well it’s Summer but there’s certainly no slowing down here at Pumpkin Hollow! We are working hard below and above ground and remain on track to enter production in Q4 of this year. We have some new photos below and of course a written update.

East Main Shaft

  • Total Lateral development to date has now advanced 4,900feet on both levels and has reached the bottom of the East North ventilation shaft.

  • Alimak infrastructure has been installed and the Alimak has advanced vertically 108 feet and this crew is developing the 3000 level loading pocket.

  • Three new mining fronts continue to make progress and they are: central ramp system, upper coarse ore bin (COB) access and upper geotechnical test stope access.

  • From the 2770 level, the team is advancing the COB lower excavations and making very good progress advancing the lower access toward the geotechnical test stope.

  • We have now advanced the drilling of the paste borehole over 600’. This borehole will be utilized for pastefill delivery as well as cement for construction needs.

Up next: Continue driving the Alimak 3000 level loading pocket, drive the 2770 access to the bottom of the geotechnical test stope and drive the 2900 level ramp to intersect the paste borehole.

East-North Vent Shaft

The EN Vent Shaft has resumed shaft sinking after encountering a small water inflow. The team drilled probe holes, grouted off the water inflow and then continued the safe excavation of the shaft.

Up next: Continue sinking the shaft until we intersect the Alimak from the 2850 level.

Surface Works

The surface infrastructure and processing equipment continues to advance to plan:

  • The Sag, Ball and Vertical mills have now all been installed (see photo)

  • The 10’ and 20’ flotation cells have been installed

  • The 120 kV substation transformer and electrical room has been installed

  • The electrical room for the process plant has been installed

  • The concentrate loading concrete foundation has been completed

  • Thickener towers are in place

  • Lime silo foundation poured

  • All completion tests to date have meet design requirements

  • Foundation excavation and conduit installation completed for the Administration and Change house buildings

Up next: Multiple activities continue to make excellent progress for the process plant and the following future work is fast approaching:

  • Turn mills and then install gears on all mills

  • Receive and install 40’ flotation cells

  • Begin thickener installation

  • Begin pulling electrical cables to all electrical houses

  • Pour concrete for retaining wall of feeder hopper

  • Receive pipe and begin pipework installation

  • 120 kV power pole installation along 4 mile corridor from future switch yard to the site
