Pumpkin Hollow Progress and Construction Update

It’s the month of May and here we are with another construction update. Once again, we remain on track to enter production in Q4 of this year. Here are some more site photos, a written update and some drone footage of site activity.

East Main Shaft

We have now advanced over 1500 feet with lateral development on the 2850 and 2770 levels and we have fully-mechanized mining on both levels as we push towards completing development to the bottom of EN vent shaft.

We are in the process of constructing our final de-watering station. As you will most likely know, all mines have to deal with water to a greater or lesser degree. One of the advantages of Pumpkin Hollow is that our water quantities are low and are easily handled by the existing pump system. In addition, we are also in the process of installing additional back-up systems which will be in place in the next couple weeks.

Up next: Set up for Alimak mining starting at the bottom of the EN vent shaft. Excavate the material handling areas on the 2770 level and advance the connector ramp to 2850 level. Begin development of the main centralized ramp system from the 2850 level and the coarse ore bin access.

East-North Vent Shaft

Progress on the EN Vent Shaft is continuing at a good pace and we are now over 650 ft below surface.

Up next: Continue sinking the shaft until we intersect the Alimak from the 2850 level. As a reminder from our last update, the Alimak will then be used to drive vertically up to intersect the East North Ventilation shaft and prepare the ore loading pocket.

Surface Works

As you can see from the photos, the surface at Pumpkin Hollow continues to change rapidly. The Ball mill pedestal is complete, as is the course ore and run off, as well as the thickener tank.

We are starting to set the structural steel for the mill and process plant equipment is arriving on site. Foundation work is progressing on the filter press and air compressor areas. In addition, lining for the dry stack tailings cell one is almost complete and the temporary test dry stack tailings cell is finished.

Up next: Commence structural steel installation and pre-fabrication on the ground. Start pre-fabrication of process equipment on the ground.
