Randy Buffington

Randy Buffington

President and Chief Executive Officer

With extensive experience in underground and open pit mining operations, both in Nevada and internationally, Mr. Buffington has successfully delivered multiple project ramp-ups and productivity improvements in an underground setting in addition to overseeing the development and operation of multiple large open pit projects. Most recently at Hycroft Mining, he was responsible for the operational reforms, successfully executing a project turnaround and delivering significant shareholder value as President and Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he held various senior management positions with Barrick from 2003 to 2012, overseeing North American and Zambian operations. He also held senior management positions with Placer Dome and Cominco.

Greg Martin

Greg Martin

EVP and Chief Financial Officer

Greg has nearly 30 years of experience in various financial and business development roles, primarily in the mining sector. He has held senior finance roles in several multi-national mining and mining-related companies including SSR Mining Inc. (where he was CFO from 2012 to 2021), NovaGold Resources Inc., Finning International Inc., Zincore Metals Inc. and Placer Dome Inc. He has a proven track record of providing leadership through company transitions, growth and development while implementing the fiscal discipline and structure to support sustainable operations. Greg is a Certified Professional Accountant (C.G.A.), holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia.

VP Head of Exploration

Mr. French is a geologist with over 35 years of exploration experience in the western US and Canada . He has worked in various capacities for Homestake Mining Co., Atlas Precious Metals, and Cornerstone Industrial Minerals as well as consulting for numerous junior mining companies. Mr. French has a Nevada gold discovery to his credit and extensive project development experience including two projects taken through feasibility and production.

Tracey Thom

VP Investor and Community Relations

Ms. Thom joins Nevada Copper as Vice President, Investor Relations and Community Relations following a 13-year tenure at Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation where she held the title VP, Investor Relations and Corporate Communication.  She has 25 years of experience in Investor Relations, primarily in the precious metals mining industry.  Ms. Thom started her career at TVX Gold Inc. and built her career growing through varying levels of senior management roles in Investor Relations, Community Relations and Government Relations for companies in various stages of development from exploration and development to major dual-listed, multi-national organizations with several operations worldwide including Kinross Gold Corp., Andina Minerals and Hycroft Mining (formerly Allied Nevada).  She has held several roles outside of Investor Relations, including VP Environmental, Project Manager and a variety of accounting and finance roles which she uses to provide a solid foundational understanding of the mining business that she translates to stakeholders.

Tori Martinez

Tori Martinez

VP of Human Resources

Ms. Martinez has over twenty years of experience in Human Resources including employee relations, compensation and benefits, project management, employee engagement, payroll, human resource policy and procedure development and implementation, immigration management, recruitment, selection, union negotiation and performance management.  Ms. Martinez has held a variety of senior leadership roles in the HR field for various mining companies including VP of Human Resources for Fiore Gold Ltd. and Director of Human Resources for Hycroft Mining Corporation.  Prior to entering the mining industry, she served in the United States Army. Ms. Martinez earned her Master’s Degree in Leadership with an emphasis in Human Resources and a Master’s in General Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Science in Management in Technology from Great Basin College where she is also a part-time professor.  She also obtained a Certification in Brain Based Coaching from the Neuroleadership Institute.

Steven Newman

VP Technical Services

Steve is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in underground and open pit mining operations, including extensive feasibility study work. He has held senior management positions for large-scale mining companies including Barrick Gold Corp. and has successfully delivered multiple project scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies for both underground and open pit projects globally, including for Hycroft Mining and Barrick.

Carolyn "Lina" Tanner

General Counsel

Lina has over 25 years of legal experience, with a focus on the energy and natural resource sectors representing both public and private entities including serving as Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, and Division of Water Resources. In private practice, she served as advisor to large mining companies, municipalities, and county governments on natural resource and energy policies. Lina has spent her career working with diverse groups to achieve the consensus and cooperation necessary to meet common goals.
