Mr. Spencer brings substantial experience in the transition of mines from construction phase to production and, in particular, optimizing production ramp-up and operating costs. He has held senior roles with Western Mining Corporation, Placerdome, Barrick Gold, Kagara, Goldfields of South Africa and Aditya Birla Minerals, and also oversaw the ramp-up and production of the Ban Phuc nickel mine. Mr. Spencer is also Chairman at Kasbah Resources.
Abraham (braam) Jonker, CA, CMA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Jonker is a registered Chartered Accountant in British Columbia (Canada), England and Wales as well as South Africa. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom and holds a Master’s Degree in South African and International Tax from the Rand Afrikaans University. Mr. Jonker has more than 20 years of extensive management, accounting and corporate finance experience across five continents, mostly in the mining industry. Mr. Jonker currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Golden Reign Resources and is Lead Independent Director of the Board of Directors of Mandalay Resources Corporation. Mr. Jonker was Chief Financial Officer of Western Coal Corporation at the time of its take-over by Walter Energy for $3.3 billion. During his career Mr. Jonker has played a pivotal role in several business recoveries, has been a key team member at management level in the strategic growth of several public companies, has raised and overseen the raising of more than $500 million in the form of equity and debt instruments and has been involved in corporate transactions aggregating several billion dollars.
Mark Wall, MBA
Chief Commercial Officer
Mr. Wall has more than 22 years of experience in the mining industry, most recently as Senior Vice President & Operations Officer for Barrick Gold Corporation where he was responsible for coordinating all aspects of Barrick’s portfolio of operations. Mr. Wall has significant experience in operations, risk management and sustainability. During his twelve years at Barrick he served as General Manager for the Veladero operations in Argentina, Barrick’s Vice President of non-financial assurance activities (Environment, Safety & Health, Maintenance, Technical Services, Community Relations and Security), and other senior roles. He also served on the Executive Committee of Australia’s Largest open pit gold mine, a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont. Prior to joining Barrick, Mr. Wall worked with Placer Dome Inc. and Western Mining Corporation. Mr. Wall holds various degrees and qualifications, including a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management, Masters Certificate in Risk Management & Business Performance, Diploma of Project Management and Diploma of Mineral Processing.
Cassandra Joseph, J.D., B.A.
Senior VP & General Counsel
Ms. Joseph has more than 20 years of legal experience with a focus on mining and metals, environmental and corporate law. Prior to joining the Nevada Copper Team, she served as VP Associate General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer for Tahoe Resources Inc. She previously served as a Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, representing the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Division of Water Resources and other agencies within the Department of Natural Resources. She was also previously a partner at Watson Rounds LLP, where she litigated intellectual property cases. She holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of law and a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley.
Greg French, P. Geol.
VP Head of Exploration
Mr. French is a geologist with over 35 years of exploration experience in the western US and Canada . He has worked in various capacities for Homestake Mining Co., Atlas Precious Metals, and Cornerstone Industrial Minerals as well as consulting for numerous junior mining companies. Mr. French has a Nevada gold discovery to his credit and extensive project development experience including two projects taken through feasibility and production.
Timothy M. Dyhr
VP External & Government Relations
Mr. Dyhr has 35 years of experience in mining. He has led multidisciplinary teams to successfully permit copper and gold mines in Nevada since 1983, and worked on projects in Arizona, California, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Australia, Africa, Turkey, China and Papua New Guinea. His experience includes environmental, regulatory, land and legal affairs; and government, media, NGO and public relations. He has worked as a mine site environmental manager, environmental consultant, natural resources manager, and group environmental manager for BHP Copper.
Aubree Barnum, PHR, SHRM-CP
Director, Human Resources
Ms. Barnum is a certified professional in Human Resources with over 10 years of human resource experience in both private and public sectors of employment including mining and government administration industries. She is also a member of Society for Human Resource Management with leadership experience in talent acquisition, talent management, labor relations, and organizational development. Prior to joining the Nevada Copper Team, Ms. Barnum held the role of Human Resource Manager for the City of Elko, Nevada, where she was served as the Chief Negotiator in labor relations. She previously served as a Senior Human Resource Professional for Barrick Gold Corporation. Ms. Barnum holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. She is currently pursuing her M.B.A. with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.
